Spent April in Costa Rica. Stayed with Beth, read the blog below and you’ll understand why Beth is so fantastic! Saw friends from my past in Vara Blanca and Monteverde. Really enjoyed time in hammocks, reading, writing, thinking and observing toucan life. Spent days hiking in the jungle almost stepping on snakes, frolicing in waterfalls, questioning everything, eating loads of cookies and bananas. Came up with future ideas and plans of bringing more books to more kids.
Although I’d love to write a million words about the trip, it’s going to stay in my journal for now. Just know that I returned home in a glowing harmony.
And wow, it’s shocking when you fly into Houston, talk about snapping out of calmness!
From Houston I went to Minturn, CO and then drove 13 hours to California.
Today, I am on Lake Tahoe. Embarking on another adventure. Another bike trip. This one, more open ended than the last two. Excited to spend the next 4-5 weeks with Christen. A crazy, wildly beautiful soul who’s going to climb mountains beside me as we work our way up from Tahoe to Portland, to Seattle and hopefully over to Glacier National Park.
We’re gearing up our bikes now, heading out on the road in the next hour! Excited for life, 2012 is extraordinary!
Phew—you are gone again! Enjoy. Portland is a biking city!!! love joan
