>You know you’re a backpacker when…………

>Your sandals look like this………..(old and new)

You see a pet racoon as something normal.

You repeatedly get hit on from 14 yr old boys.

You wear a garbage bag in the rain and it feels normal.

You itch even when there’s no bites.

You’ll walk 2 miles to exchange books for free, no mater what the title or content.

A boat ride in the rain feels like a beautiful way to shower.

Bananas are your main food source.  Vitamins a close second.

When a customs agent writes ’90’ days in your passport and you fist pump.

You look at prospective hostels and hammock materials are more important than what the bed is made of.  Let alone wonder about the school on the first floor.

You stash your money in your bra.  And feel totally comfortable digging for it to pay a bill.

You smile at every act of generosity, as if it was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you.

Meeting someone from Spain, Ireland, Holland, England, Honduras, Guatemala and the US in one day is normal, including travelers of every age.  My new friend Jean is proof how you can travel, dance and see the world with no worries about age barriers!

You accept the dare to eat 5 pieces of heavy frosted chocolate cake because its first you’ve had in 6 months…….and then you get dizzy from the amount of sugar your body is processing. And only I worry about what my sister Angie will say to me when she reads this, as she’s a meter rep for Bayers’ diabetic sales team. I ate 4 in total.  And will never do it again, maybe never eat cake again.  Cure to a sweet tooth?

This is just a taste, as all of this has happened in the last day or so!
