Tree from lastnights campsite in Pace, FL

Magnolia trees starting to bloom. They're EVERYWHERE along the road

Praying mantis

Drum roll.....the last state!

These were scattered in our view of the Mobile bay/Gulf coast

White sand beaches almost sucked us into the vortex

Colorful lizard crossed the road and decided to climb on my bike as we were taking a break

They pickle everything in Louisiana. Word to the wise, stick to the eggs and away from the pork lips

During our breakfast stop, we see boiled peanuts and inquire to the women working the counters. They insist we try both kinds (regular and cajun style) of the boiled peanuts. MUCH BETTER than the pigs feet. What you do: buy green peanuts, boil with salt and/or cajun seasoning. They're everywhere down South!

Oh the beauty of tree life!

We were on the coast on the one year anniversary of the tragic oil spill. They even have hot lines set up for oil spill devistation. Things are good now. Shrimp tastes fine...ocean still littered with oil rigs.

  1. So fun to follow your trip! I can’t believe you’re in Florida already. Wow. Can’t wait for your post about your gear, daily mileage averages, etc… 🙂 Cool stuff! (Also, any details tips you feel like sharing about dealing with back side issues… kinda nervous about that!)
