Jackal Hut Hike

When you need your feet to stay dry during a 4 mile hike down the mountain, bag them. Literally. We hiked up to a hut with friends. They were staying for 3 days. We were staying for 2 hours. A 200 yard section of ‘post-hole-ing’ required ingenuity and creativity to maintain dryness for the hike down.  The idea=Kari.  With dry gear on, we bagged our socks then stuck them in our shoes. Made for a warm hike out, even with the inevitable ‘post-hole.’
